Part One of our Crowdfunder has ended - thank you!

Chocolate Has A Name has only just started and we're crowdfunding for our pilot project in Tarkwa Breman. The £10,000 we need will be raised in three phases, and the first phase has just ended with an amazing £3,500 being raised for the equipment we need to set up the chocolate making workshop. This includes £1,500 from the FIG Tree to buy the grinders which the girls will use to turn their parents' cocoa beans into a smooth paste which is a central ingredient in chocolate.

The second phase of fundraising will be launched on 26 May just before campaigners set off to walk the Fair Trade Way, and run throughout June and into July. In this second phase we will be raising the funds we need to train the teachers and create the materials needed to teach the children about the history, geography and nutritional properties of cocoa.

Thank you to everyone who has donated so far - we'll keep you updated on our progress.
